The 2018 BMW X3 is now launched in India and if offered at the price of Rs. 49.99 lakh (Ex-showroom). Earlier, this third generation mid-sized SUV was unveiled by the car maker at the 2018 Auto Expo. The car is offered in two diesel engine variants — xDrive 20d Expedition and xDrive 20d Luxury Line, priced at Rs. 49.99 lakh and Rs. 56.70 lakh (Ex-showroom India prices) respectively.

Offered in two trims, the xDrive20d Expedition and the xDrive20d Luxury Line, the BMW X3 is priced competitively. As mentioned, the Expedition and Luxury Line trims are offered at the price of Rs. 49.99 lakh and Rs. 56.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
At the offered price, it is likely to give the rivals like Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 a run for their money.

Under the hood, the new X3 carries the same 2.0 litre diesel engine. There is no petrol engine on offer, however, the diesel motor has become more powerful and can churn maximum power of 188 bhp at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. The motor is linked to an 8 speed automatic transmission.
The performance of New BMW X3 is unquestionable. It can take a sprint of 0-100 kmph in just 8 seconds and can touch the top speed of 213 kmph. The drive type is 4WD, standard in both the variants.

Exterior
BMW X3 2018 has undergone a major revamp. The car gets an entirely new face and even the rear is tweaked to some extent. Compared to the previous model, the X3 gets new headlights along with a larger kidney grille. Even the bumper looks very fresh, and comes with integrated LED fog lights, unlike the oval fog lamps earlier seen in the forerunner.
Moreover, the wheels also receive a major update with standard wheel size being 18 inches (bigger than the previous model), while the top-end trim getting 21-inches wheels. Despite being longer than the previous generation model, the new BMW X3 is 55 kilograms lighter in weight.

The new X3 is available in 4 exciting colour options — Mineral White, Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect, Black Sapphire and Phytonic Blue.

The 2018 X3 SUV is based on a new platform and is longer than the predecessor. The length of the car is 4708mm, while the width and height are 1891mm and 1676mm respectively. The wheelbase of the new X3 is longer, i.e. 2864mm, and the ground clearance of the car is 211mm.
Interior
Inside too, a lot of rework is done. The dashboard looks fresh and so are the seats and the infotainment system. You will notice a larger touchscreen merged with the dash, which in the previous model was seen residing inside the infotainment system. The new BMW X3’s infotainment features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard and also comes with gesture control.
Right below the infotainment an ‘X3’ silver accent is placed that further adds the beauty. The steering wheel of the car is also restyled and looks more elegant and sophisticated with the presence of silver accents. The company claims that the 2018 X3 SUV comes with the best-in-class boot space of 550 litres and it can further be increased up to 1600 litres by folding the 40:20:40 split rear seats.
