The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR 2019 is going to be launched on 23rd January 2019. This third generation model is coming up with all new exterior design combined with a completely modernized layout of the cabin. The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will be available with two petrol engine options and both the transmission options i.e. automatic and manual. The model, when launched, will give a tough competition to an updated version of Tata Tiago, Datsun Go, and the 2018 Hyundai Santro.
The new hatchback is available in three variants i.e. L, V, and Z. Although the variant wise details are not out, it is spied that the new model will get an infotainment system in the touchscreen format and sensors for rear parking. The new WagonR variant i.e. L and V will be available for the consumers with the 1.0-liter petrol engine. And also the V variant is available with the 1.2-liter engine. The manual transmission is offered in all the variants along with both engines, the automatic transmission is offered only on V and Z variants.
The new generation model is taller, wider and longer than the previous WagonR, which was also known as Stingray. There is an accretion in the overall width and the wheelbase when compared to the previous model. The wheelbase used is somewhat similar to the Ignis which pinpoints towards the basis of new WagonR being the Heartect Platform.
For the first time in the history of the WagonR, the car is offered with the option of multiple engines. The 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine is carried forward and the 1.2-liter 4-cyl engine is borrowed from the Swift. The new WagonR will be the most powerful available option present in India.
The price of the outgoing model is raging from 4.15 lakhs to 5.39 lakhs. So the new range of the WagonR of Maruti Suzuki is expected to be launched at somewhat same price but the prices of the variants with the dual engine options will be a hike.
