Maruti Ignis sees a few cosmetic updates save for the BS6 engine. The 2020 Ignis price witnesses a noticeable surge compared to its pre-facelift version
After a lot of melodrama Maruti Suzuki has silently introduced its 2020 Ignis facelift at Rs 4.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The changes to the new Maruti Ignis 2020 are not radical, in fact subtle. The Japanese carmaker recently unveiled its new Ignis at the 2020 Auto Expo. The updation of the engines to BS6 compliant made the new Maruti Suzuki hatch costlier by up to Rs 25,000.
Changes
The new 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis continues to be retailed out of the Nexa showrooms. The Ignis witnesses minor cosmetic updates such as chrome-lined front grille (takes cues from the Brezza), faux skid plates at the front as well as the rear and redesigned bumpers and black A & B pillars are some of the noteworthy changes.
The 2020 Maruti Ignis cabin too continues to feature the pattern of its predecessor. The changes are minimalistic and barely differentiates the pre-facelift from the facelift Ignis. With no alterations to the dimensions, the Ignis continues to be a perfect car for four occupants.
Underpinned by the 5th generation Heartect platform, it gets 17.78cm Suzuki’s SmartPlay touchscreen unit supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine
The 2020 Maruti Ignis engine too remains the same 1.2-litre petrol motor which produces max power of 83PS at 6000rpm and max torque of 113Nm at 4200rpm. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The new engine, of course, complies with the upcoming BS6 norms.
