Maruti Suzuki Launches 2020 S-Cross Powered by BS6 Petrol Engine With 4-Speed Auto Transmission Option

The 2020 S-Cross BS6 now also comes with a choice of automatic transmission.

Country’s leading automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has today launched the BS6 compliant and petrol engine powered 2020 Maruti S-Cross in India at the starting price of Rs 8.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Earlier, the company showcased this car at the 2020 Auto Expo and its launch was supposed to happen early this year but it got delayed due to COVID-19 lockdown.

After the lockdown, the S-Cross is auto major’s first car launched in India. With the arrival of the new 2020 S-Cross, Maruti Suzuki would surely be expecting a positive response from the car buyers. Offered with the petrol-only choice, the S-Cross is indeed a refined avatar that we have seen before. In fact, it comes with a cabin that hosts several features to add more convenience and luxury during drives.

Specifications

The all-new S-Cross is impressively amazing on the spec side as it now gets the much-awaited petrol engine – 1.5-litre K-Series – also powering Ertiga, Brezza, Ciaz and XL6. This engine now also features smart hybrid technology, which increases the efficiency of the vehicle. Both, on the performance as well as mileage front, this engine has already performed well for the aforementioned Maruti Suzuki cars, and certainly same is what you can expect with this car too. The ARAI claimed mileage of 2020 Maruti S-Cross BS6 is 18.55 kmpl.

The 1.5L K-Series engine can produce a peak power of 104 bhp and maximum torque of 138 Nm. Besides this, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is for the first time offered with an automatic transmission option in the Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross 2020 is offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. While the base trim Sigma is available at the price tag of Rs 8.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the top-end trim Alpha, with automatic transmission, is offered at the price tag of Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
