2022 CFMoto 650 GT launched in Europe, gets a couple of new features
After a few months of launching the updated BS6 compliant 650 GT in India, CFMoto has unveiled the 2022 model of the motorcycle for the European markets. As a minor annual update, the new CFMoto 650 GT gets a few small updates to its design and equipment list. The new 2022 CFMoto 650 GT might be launched in India sometime next year as a part of its periodic update in the country.
What’s new?
The most notable thing in the new CFMoto 650 GT is the new paint scheme – Nebula Black with silver and matte black accents. The new paint shade is a departure from the white and black colour options which get vibrant-looking contrast blue accents. Apart from the new paint scheme, there are no changes to the basic design of the CFMoto 650 GT.
In terms of equipment, there are a couple of new features which have made their way in the CFMoto 650 GT. There are two new USB chargers and new colour-coded side panniers which have been made available as standard in the motorcycle, which make it a more touring-oriented motorcycle than ever before.
Other Features
Apart from the limited updates, the CFMoto 650 GT continues to be a feature-rich motorcycle as it was already before as well. The motorcycle gets eye-catching and useful features like full LED headlamps, tail lamp and turn indicators, height-adjustable front windscreen, full TFT instrument console, split seats, clip-on handlebars, fairing-mounted rearview mirrors and split pillion grab rails.
Engine
There are absolutely no changes to the engine of the CFMoto 650 GT, and it continues with the liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, 649.3cc engine which was upgraded to BS6 emission norms only in 2021. The changes introduced for BS6 compliance dropped the performance outputs of this engine, with it now producing maximum power and torque outputs of 56 bhp and 54.4 Nm respectively. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and two different riding modes aptly named ‘Sport’ and ‘Touring’.
Chassis
Apart from the engine, even the basic chassis of the CFMoto 650 GT has remained unchanged in the new iteration. The new motorcycle retains the suspension combination of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, dual petal disc brakes at the front and a single petal disc brake at the rear.
Price
CFMoto has launched the updated 650 GT in Europe at 6,440 Euros. The motorcycle is currently on sale in the Indian market for Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Expect a minor price hike for the updated model, once it arrives at the Indian shores. The CFMoto 650 GT was a part of a lineup of three 650cc motorcycles from CFMoto which were launched with BS6 compliant engines in June 2021. The CFMoto 650 GT competes with similar kind of touring-oriented middleweight motorcycles like Kawasaki Ninja 650, Honda CB 500X and Benelli TRK 502.
