Harley Davidson has unveiled its latest offering in the sport family of motorcycles globally, the all-new Nightster. The new Harley Davidson Nightster will accompany the Sportster S in the premium bike maker’s Sport family of premium cruisers.
The NIghtster has been listed on Harley Davidson’s Indian website, indicating that the launch of the motorcycle is just around the corner. On the website, it has been confirmed that the motorcycle will be available in three colour options – Vivid Black, Redline Red and Gunship Gray.
2022 Harley Davidson Nightster – Design
The Harley Davidson Nightster has a visual appeal of a low slung single-seater cruiser, just like the Sportster S. The motorcycle gets a rounded all-LED headlamp surrounded by a curvy looking cowl. The rounded turn indicators are clear lens LED units, with the rear ones getting the dual functionality of LED tail lamps too. The low slung styling of the motorcycle is well complemented by a sleek looking peanut-themed fuel tank, low-positioned single-seat, flat-track-styled handlebar with bar-end-mounted rearview mirrors and low ground clearance.
The Harley Davidson Nightster has chopped-themed front and rear fenders, with the motorcycle getting blacked-out 7-spoke alloy wheels and 2-into-1 exhaust pipe. The V-twin engine here is finished in a dual-tone theme of grey and black, with the motorcycle also getting unique-looking covers for the airbox and engine cowl. The 4-inch rounded instrument console gets an analogue speedometer and a small LCD screen for odometer, trip meters, gear position indicator, fuel range, clock, tachometer and engaged ride mode.
2022 Harley Davidson Nightster – Engine and Transmission
The Harley Davidson Nightster becomes the first motorcycle to feature the four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin, DOHC, 975cc engine, which first debuted on the Bronx naked roadster concept. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 90 PS of maximum power and 95 Nm of maximum torque.
2022 Harley Davidson Nightster – Chassis
Sitting on a tubular steel frame, the Harley Davidson Nightster gets 41mm hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and dual-sided coil springs with pre-load adjustment at the rear. The motorcycle weighs 218 kg, thus making it the lightest motorcycle from Harley Davidson’s Sportster family of motorcycles to date. With single disc brakes at both the ends and a seat height of 705mm, the Harley Davidson Nightster gets a 19-inch front wheel with 100/90-19 tyre and a 16-inch rear wheel with 150/80 B16 tyre.
2022 Harley Davidson Nightster – Other Features
Apart from the all-LED lights front and rear and a part-digital instrument console, the Harley Davidson Nightster also gets a suite of electronic riding aids and safety features. It comes standard with a dual-channel ABS, traction control, drag-torque slip control system and three riding modes – road, rain and sport.
2022 Harley Davidson Nightster – Expected Pricing
The Harley Davidson Nightster is touted to be priced below the Sportster S in the manufacturer’s lineup in India. It indicates that the motorcycle will be priced in the range of Rs 15-16 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, the Harley Davidson Nightster competes with the Indian Chief.
