2022 Maruti Suzuki WagonR: Complete Variant Details with Features

Maruti Suzuki has mildly updated one of its best-selling compact cars in India, the WagonR, with a couple of new features, new paint schemes and most importantly, new engine options. Following is a complete description of all the four variants with which the new Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been launched.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR LXI

Price – Rs 5.40 lakh (manual), Rs 6.35 lakh (CNG)

This is the most basic variant with which the range of WagonR starts, and is offered with a single 1.0-litre petrol engine offered in both petrol-only and CNG powered forms. This variant gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors as standard. Other features of this variant of the WagonR include dual-tone beige and dark grey mélange interior, MID-equipped instrument console, manual AC, bottle holders in front door pockets and front power windows.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR VXI

Price – Rs 5.86 lakh (manual), Rs 6.36 lakh (AMT), Rs 6.81 lakh (CNG)

This time around, the VXI variant of the WagonR misses out on the 1.2-litre petrol engine and comes with only a 1.0-litre engine option. However, there is an option for the CNG-version and AMT-equipped version of this petrol engine on offer as well.

The VXI variant comes with added features like wheel caps for the steel wheels and body-coloured door handles and rearview mirrors on the outside. On the inside, it adds in more features like electrical adjustment for rearview mirrors, 2-DIN audio system with two speakers and Bluetooth connectivity, day-night inside rearview mirror, tilt-adjustable steering, remote keyless entry, rear power windows and rear parcel tray. The AMT variant also gets hill hold assist in addition.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR ZXI

Prices – Rs 6.00 lakh (manual), Rs 6.50 lakh (AMT)

Like before, the ZXI variant of the WagonR is on offer only with a 1.2-litre petrol engine with both manual and AMT versions. In addition to all the features of the VXI variant, the ZXI variant comes with blacked-out B-pillars and steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR ZXI+

Price – Rs 6.48 lakh (manual), Rs. 6.60 lakh (dual-tone manual), Rs 6.98 lakh (AMT), Rs 7.10 lakh (dual-tone AMT)

This is the new top-spec variant of the new WagonR and gets a couple of features that are new to the WagonR lineup. The ZXI+ variant gets 14-inch black-coloured alloy wheels, electrically foldable rearview mirrors with turn indicators on them, fog lamps and rear wiper and defogger on the outside, apart from all the features of the ZXI variant. The ZXI+ variant also has additional features like a tachometer in the instrument console, tray under the front co-passenger seat, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, two additional speakers and a voice command system. It is also the only variant with two dual-tone colour options on offer.

Details on engine options

Both the older 1.0-litre petrol and 1.2-litre petrol engine options of the erstwhile WagonR have been replaced with similar-sized but different engines. The new 1.0-litre Dualjet petrol engine produces 67 bhp of maximum power and 89 Nm of maximum torque, while the new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine pumps out 90 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. Both these engine options are offered with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options, with the 1.0-litre petrol engine also getting the option of factory-fitted CNG kit in LXI and VXI variants.
