Hands down Tata Motors has brought some of the most exciting offerings to the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. And here we are going to look at an impressive concept hatch, the Tata 45X, that will soon enter into one of the most popular segments in the Indian auto market.
Here are 5 things you didn’t know about the Tata 45X premium hatchback concept
Breaks The Mould
The Tata 45X concept breaks away from any of the current generation Tata car models in every way. The car is based on the Indian automaker’s advanced modular platform and incorporates Tata Motors’ next generation Impact 2.0 design language. The platform will also underpin Tata’s range of compact cars in the future.
Sized Just Right
The new out-of-the-box concept hatchback will be 200mm longer than the Tata Tiago but as per Tata Motors it will still fall under the sub- 4-metre mark and will comfortably sit in the lower tax slab.
Big Bang In A Small Package
It is possible that the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine might be introduced in the premium hatchback when it is production ready. The diesel duties will be undertaken by the 1.05-litre Revotorq engine.
Not Just A Concept
Tata Motors has confirmed that a premium hatchback based on the 45X concept will go into production as early as 2019.
Competitive Edge
The production-ready Tata 45X will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, 2018 Hyundai i20 and if the concept is any indication, with the contrasting roof line and the feature-laden build this offering is likely to come with a plethora of segment first features.
