For now, the new BMW X3 is offered in India with a single petrol-automatic powertrain, which is available in two variants. Both these variants are offered with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
Visual changes on the outside
On the outside, the new BMW X3 gets a tweaked form of the traditional dual-kidney grille. The all-LED headlamps are new too, which get mild revisions with adaptive LEDs in them. The front and rear bumpers are new as well, with revised sportier-looking inserts. Even the tail lamps have become sleeker than before, with new LED inserts in them. While the first lot of the people who booked the SUV before its launch will get 20-inch alloy wheels, the new bookings from now on will get smaller 19-inch alloy wheels.
Visual changes on the inside
There are a couple of prominent changes which have been introduced in the new BMW X3. The 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console (specific for xDrive 30i M Sport variant) now gets new graphics and display modes. Also, while the xDrive 30i SportX Plus variant continues to get the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the more premium xDrive 30i M Sport variant now gets a bigger 12.35-inch screen with gesture control for the same. The lower centre console has been updated too with newer controls.

The more premium xDrive 30i M Sport variant also gets adaptive suspension, Harman Kardon music system and 360-degree parking camera.
Engine and Transmission
Both the variants of the new BMW X3 are bestowed with single powertrain options under their hood. The X3 comes with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 252 bhp and a peak torque output of 350 Nm. Both the variants are offered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive as standard. It is expected that a 2.0-litre diesel engine from the 3-Series and X1 is expected to be added to the lineup of BMW X3 very soon.
