Also, new to the Triumph Tiger 1200 range is the powertrain. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine produces 150 bhp of maximum power and 130 Nm of maximum torque, which is much more than the previous generation model. Compared to the previous generation version, the new Tiger 1200 now weighs 25 kg lighter. The weight-saving measures include a new double-sided swing-arm, lighter main frame and aluminium fuel tank.

The Explorer versions stretch the list a bit longer with a larger 30-litre fuel tank, engine protection bars, heated rider and pillion seats, tyre pressure monitoring system, bigger side fairing panels and radar-based system with blind-spot monitoring system and lane change warning system.
