2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Range Launched, Prices start at Rs 19.19 lakh
Triumph has brought the much-awaited flagship range of its adventure tourer motorcycles, the Tiger 1200, to Indian shores. Launched in four variants at a starting price of Rs 19.19 lakh, the new Triumph Tiger 1200 range sits above the Tiger Sport 660, Tiger 850 Sport and Tiger 900 range in the adventure tourer lineup from the British motorcycle marquee.
2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Variants and Pricing
The new Triumph Tiger 1200 has been launched in India in all of its four variants – GT Pro, Rally Pro, GT Explorer and Rally Explorer. The GT Pro and GT Explorer are road-biased variants with softer rubbers and alloy wheels and are priced at Rs 19.19 lakh and Rs 20.69 lakh.
On the other hand, the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer are more off-road focused with spoke wheels and dual-purpose tyres and are priced at Rs 20.19 lakh and Rs 21.69 lakh respectively. The Pro and Explorer trim levels differ in terms of features and the size of the fuel tank.
The GT Pro and GT Explorer are available in three colour options of Snowdonia White, Sapphire Black and Lucerne Blue, whereas the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer are available in Snowdonia White, Sapphire Black and Matt Khaki Green.
2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Engine and Transmission
Also, new to the Triumph Tiger 1200 range is the powertrain. All the variants of the Tiger 1200 are now powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline-three, 1160cc engine, which gets a T-plane crankshaft. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine produces 150 bhp of maximum power and 130 Nm of maximum torque, which is much more than the previous generation model. Compared to the previous generation version, the new Tiger 1200 now weighs 25 kg lighter. The weight-saving measures include a new double-sided swing-arm, lighter main frame and aluminium fuel tank.

2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Design and Features
The new Triumph Tiger 1200 is easily the biggest motorcycle in the entire Tiger range of adventure tourers. However, compared to the previous generation version, the new Tiger 1200 looks sleeker. The body panels are now sharper to look at, and while the motorcycle still looks large, it doesn’t look unnecessarily bulky.
The new version of the Tiger 1200 now gets a whole new set of features as standard in both Pro and Explorer versions, such as all-LED headlamps with daytime running LEDs and lean-sensing cornering lights, hand guards, aluminium skid plate, 7-inch full-TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, five riding modes, electronically-adjustable suspension, bi-directional quick-shifter, heated grips, hill hold assist, cruise control and keyless ignition.
The Explorer versions stretch the list a bit longer with a larger 30-litre fuel tank, engine protection bars, heated rider and pillion seats, tyre pressure monitoring system, bigger side fairing panels and radar-based system with blind-spot monitoring system and lane change warning system.

2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 – Competition
The Triumph Tiger 1200 has made a comeback in the category of full-size adventure tourers, which has become popular with the arrival of newer motorcycles post enforcement of BS6 emission norms. The new Tiger 1200 competes with BMW R 1250 GS range (Rs 20.5-22.5 lakh), Ducati Multistrada V4 range (Rs 19.75-24.15 lakh) and Harley Davidson Pan America (Rs 18.25-21 lakh).
