Maruti Suzuki has finally ended the drought of a proper midsize SUV in its lineup with the introduction of the all-new Grand Vitara. The comeback of the ‘Grand Vitara’ nameplate has happened in the form of an all-new SUV, which will be offered with two powertrain options – 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol and 1.5-litre full-hybrid petrol.
Let’s start with the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine first, which will be offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. In all these four variants, the naturally-aspirated petrol engine claims 103 PS of maximum power and 136.8 Nm of maximum torque. All the four variants with this engine come standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox, though from the Delta variant onwards, you do get the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission. Following is a description of all the four variants:

On the inside, it looks premium with a dual-tone black and brown upholstery, tilt-and-telescopic adjustable steering wheel with audio and Bluetooth controls, 4.2-inch TFT MID in the instrument console, push start-stop button, auto AC with rear AC vents, 60:40 split rear seats and rear centre armrest. The Sigma variant gets only the essentials in safety, such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ESP with hill hold control and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.
