The 2020 Hyundai Creta features a broad hexagonal grille outlined by chrome and three-element tastefully placed LED headlamps with an eyebrow like LED DRL. The exterior may divide opinions as we believe Korean designers have gone a little over the board in designing the front and rear profiles. The indicators have slipped into the fog lamp housing.

The Hyundai Creta BS6 gets three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol and diesel, and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. While the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel mills yield the same power output of 115PS, the torque of petrol is 144Nm and diesel is 250Nm.

The most powerful engine of the trio – 1.4-litre turbo-petrol generates 140PS of max power and 242Nm of peak torque. It is only offered with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. You get three driving modes in the new Creta – Normal, Sport and Eco.

Fuel Economy

The new breed of engines not only offer exceptional performance but also outstanding mileage figures. The petrol variant returns an ARAI claimed mileage figure of 16.8 kmpl and 16.9 kmpl for manual and automatic versions. Contrarily, the diesel offers 21.4 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 18.5 kmpl with the automatic.

Features

Inside the cabin, one gets the creature comforts of steering mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity, Android and Apple CarPlay connectivity and much more. The interiors also feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which also comes with satellite navigation and leather seats which gives a much more premium feel to the occupants. You get electronic parking brake, paddle shifter for AT variants, air purifier, cooled front seats and auto headlamps.

The highlight is, of course, the connected car tech – Blue Link system. It helps the Creta owner to keep a track of the car, establish geofencing or operating the engine remotely.

Safety

The top-spec trim of the 2020 Hyundai Creta comes fitted with 6 airbags, Anti-Lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hillstart Assist Control (HAC), disc brakes and Rear Parking Assist System.
