Mahindra Cars At Auto Expo 2018 – Electric Vehicles Take Centre Stage

Mahindra Showcased 6 New Electric Cars at Indian Auto Expo 2018

Mahindra G4 Rexton, Convertible Stinger SUV, e-Cosmo all-electric bus, e2o NXT and e-KUV100 were up for display at the Auto Expo.

Mahindra and Mahindra flexed its electric muscle at the Indian Auto Expo 2018. The home grown utility maker displayed one of the most comprehensive electric vehicle displays ranging from three-wheelers to cars and buses. Unveiling of the electric KUV100, convertible Stinger SUV, refreshed e2o NXT (e2o Plus facelift) and rebadged G4 Rexton were the highlights at its stall.

Mahindra Stinger and Rexton

The sub-4meter convertible Mahindra Stinger SUV is likely to be based on the TUV300, but it features radical design compared to the boxy TUV styling. The Mahindra Rexton aka second-gen Ssangyong Rexton is expected to be the new flagship vehicle from the utility major in the country. Based on a completely different platform, the SUV has now grown in its dimensions and is also lighter than the outgoing model.

Mahindra e-KUV100

As promised by Mahindra to launch each of its existing and new vehicles in an electric avatar, the e-KUV100 was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. Expected to be launched in India by the end of this year, the e-KUV has a range of 140km and takes less than an hour for charging upto 80 per cent of its capacity.

Mahindra e2o NXT (e2o facelift)

A facelift version of Mahindra Electric’s e2o NXT was also unveiled at the mega event. Apart from the exterior changes, the electric hatch also gets updated interiors with a larger infotainment system.

Mahindra e-Cosmo electric bus

Mahindra showcased its first electric bus, the e-Cosmo at the Auto Expo. Powering this versatile bus is the state-of-the-art direct drive motor developed in association with TM4, Canada, which is a renowned name in the global EV arena. It gets BMS (Battery Management System) and regenerative braking mechanism. To ensure optimum utilisation of the space, the zero-emission bus comes with a variety of seating configurations.

It was an all-electric show by the home grown automaker at the Indian Auto Expo 2018 which also had its existing vehicles like the e-Verito and the e-Supro up for display.
