5 Amazing Things about the Tata E-Vision Concept that You Might Not Know
Tata Motors is on an offensive mode. After displaying what it’s capable of at the 2018 Auto Expo with its H5X SUV and the 45X hatchback, the home grown automaker looks in no mood to settle. Latest addition to its list is the Tata E-Vision sedan concept. Last week, it unveiled the full-sized all-electric sedan at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Let’s see what’s so interesting in the latest Tata concept.
- New Platform
The Tata E-Vision concept is based on the modular OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) ARC platform. Tata will be utilizing this platform for making cars over 4.3 meters in the country. Please note this is the same platform that underpins the H5X SUV revealed at the Expo.
- 4000 Pins!
Front fascia of the E-Vision gets Tata’s signature humanity line and an interesting grille. Well, there isn’t a grille at all. Instead, it gets 4,000 illuminated pins arranged in the tri-arrow shape, which has started to become a trademark symbol of newer generation of Tata cars.
- Coupe-esque Roof
The full-size sedan gets a slanting roof that blends perfectly with the tail lamps in a typical coupe-style. Glass area is quite huge, which makes the sophisticated cabin look airier than it indeed is.
- More Cabin Space
With electric motor powering the E-Vision, the disturbing transmission tunnel is given a miss inside the cabin. However, unlike other electric cars its batteries are concealed under the floor.
- Futuristic cabin
Interiors of the Tata E-Vision bear minimal buttons and get a clean layout. The flat-bottom steering column, soft touch dash, natural wood and leather along with pop-up type touchscreen panel makes it an interesting mix of retro and contemporary design.
