Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the much-awaited hatchback from Hyundai is launched in India at the price tag of Rs. 4.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom). This new-gen Grand i10 badging the “NIOS” mark on it is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options and will be sold alongside the current-generation model in the Indian auto market. Jerok Chun, Head of Powertrain Development, Hyundai Global presented the launch, highlighting some important insights about Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS and Hyundai’s future development initiatives.

Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS will be positioned between the current generation Grand i10 and the Elite i20 hatchbacks. The entrance of Grand i10 NIOS in Hyundai’s portfolio will make the auto-major more stronger in the small car segment. Currently, as far as small cars are concerned, apart from the newly launched Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai also sells, Hyundai Santro, Hyundai Grand i10 (current generation) and Hyundai Elite i20.

Price List

The price of the petrol variants of Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS start at Rs. 499,990 (Ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs. 713,950 (Ex-showroom). On the other hand, the entry-level diesel variant is priced at Rs. 670,090 (Ex-showroom) and the top-end diesel variant is priced Rs. 799,450 (Ex-showroom).

Warranty Choices

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers complete peace of mind to its owners with multiple warranty options, which are:

• 3 Years / 100,000 km, or
• 4 Years / 50,000 km, or
• 5 Years / 40,000 km

Engine & Specifications

The new-generation Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS will be available in 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engine options. The petrol engine from Hyundai is going to be the first BS6 compliant engine.

All the petrol variants of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will come powered by a 1.2-litre (1197cc) Kappa Petrol Engine which will have the capability to produce maximum power of 83 ps @ 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 11.6 kg.m @ 4,000 rpm.

The diesel variants, on the other hand, will come powered by a 1.2-litre (1186cc) U2 Diesel Engine, having the capability to produce maximum power of 75 ps @ 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 19.4 kg.m @ 1,750-2,250 rpm.

Both, the petrol and diesel engines will be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission and will also be offered with an additional choice of Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT).

Mileage

The 1.2-litre Kappa Petrol Engine of Grand i10 Nios will be able to deliver the fuel efficiency of 20.7 kmpl (ARAI Certified Mileage). Whereas, the 1.2-litre U2 Diesel Engine of this car will deliver the mileage of 26.2 kmpl (ARAI Certified Mileage).

Exterior

Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS is given a classy styling outside, with the fascia resembling a lot to its siblings Hyundai Verna and Hyundai New Santro. Projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) make it a stylish urban hatchback. Moreover, sloping roofline along with unique branding on C-Pillar is something new to observe in the small car segment. Another thing that attracts the most on the Grand i10 NIOS are its 15 inches diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Other highlights on the outer of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios include glossy black radiator grille, chrome door handles, shark fin antenna, rear chrome garnish and projector fog lamps.

Premium feel inside is further raised by the High Glossy Black Inserts, giving the Grand i10 NIOS a contemporary edge over its rivals.
