Along with SXR160, the new Aprilia SXR125 launch is confirmed for September.
Piaggio’s sub-brand Aprilia has unwrapped the Cross-Max concept at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. When into production this concept will be named as SXR and will be available in two iterations – 125cc and 160cc. Confirmed to launch in September, the Aprilia SXR125 bookings will open from August. The scooter will be available with four colour options – Red, Blue, White and Black.
Engines
Initially, the Aprilia SXR range, just like the SR series, will be available with only two engine options i.e. 125cc and 160cc. Both these engines come with 3V tech engine technology. The SXR range is likely to borrow the same engines and underpinnings as seen in the SR125 and SR160 scooters. The engines will now comply with BS6 emission norms.
Style
Featuring maxi-scooter style, the Cross-Max concept gets a stretched-out flat floor, additional storage space, tall windscreen and ergonomic seats. It gets a sharp design with full-LED headlight, LED tail lamps and a multifunction digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. Mobile charging port at the front is a nice practical addition. Moreover, it gets an array of accessories for enthusiasts.
With discs at the front as well as rear, the Aprilia SXR gets a telescopic fork, monoshock and single-channel ABS for confident braking. It rides on the 12-inch machined alloys.
What about the Aprilia SXR price?
The Aprilia SXR series will sit in between Vespa and SR range. We do not have any confirmation on the prices yet, expect them to start above Rs 75,000. It locks horns with the Suzuki Burgman Street which is its only competition in the Indian market.
