The third-gen i20 packs in more features along with a diesel engine.
Hyundai i20 2020 launch finally took place in India at an introductory price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The third-generation i20 looks more charged in terms of looks, cabin feel and performance. The Korean automaker had discontinued the diesel i20 in March 2020 owing to the application of BS6 norms. Earlier, the only car to have a diesel heart in its segment was the Altroz. With the diesel motor, it looks to take on the segment-leader Maruti Baleno as well.
The 2020 Hyundai i20 is competitively priced at Rs 6.79 lakh which goes all the way up to Rs 11.17 for the top-spec Asta (O) turbo trim. It is available in four variants – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). Here are the variant-wise price details:

New i20 vs Old – Changes at a glance
Well, there is everything new. The styling has been given a complete makeover with the car getting a sharper look with the sculpted bonnet, sleek bumpers and creases across the body. The grille takes a big chunk of real estate at the front and follows the family suit (Hyundai Verna has similar grille).
From the sides too it gets a sharper hatchback design with those beautiful alloy wheels. Rear witnesses radical changes which include new Z-shaped tail lamp design connected by a thick chrome slat and an aggressive bumper. It also features a quarter glass, chrome-outlined on the rear-side.
The new i20 gets a host of features which include 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, air purifier, push-button start-stop, power windows, BlueLink connected car tech and a smart sunroof.
Safety bucket gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, hill start assist and electronic stability control to name a few.
CarBikeIndia Says
The Hyundai i20 2020 launch price may not make it the most economical option in the premium hatchback space, but it was never the case with the i20. With features loaded to the brim along with aggressive styling and premium interiors, the i20 looks to settle scores with the Maruti Baleno and the new contender – Tata Altroz.
