Nissan Magnite Launched at Rs 4.99 Lakh; Becomes the Most Affordable Sub-4m SUV

The under-4m SUV is offered with five main variants.

Nissan has finally launched its buzziest car of the year in India, the Magnite SUV at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The introductory prices top out at Rs 9.45 lakh for the top-spec Turbo XV Premium (O) CVT trim. The prices will be revised from January 1, 2021. The newest entrant gets a host of features, two engine-gearbox options and appealing looks. The same CMF-A+ platform of the Renault Triber underpins the Magnite as well.

The Magnite is offered in five variants – XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O).

The Nissan Magnite is offered with a plethora of exciting features including LED bi-projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, air purifier, electrically adjustable & foldable wing mirrors, wireless charger, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, cruise control, voice recognition technology, tyre pressure monitoring system, push-button start, JBL sound system and many more.

It also gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.

Nissan Magnite Engines

Since it shares the platform, the Magnite shares the engine as well with the Triber. It comes with naturally-aspirated and turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engines. Both come with a standard 5-speed manual transmission, however, the turbo also gets a CVT option.

With that aggressive tag, the Nissan Magnite undercuts all its rivals in the segment including the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.

Where does the Nissan Magnite stand in the price war with key rival Kia Sonet?

The aggressive pricing makes the Magnite a first-choice for buyers with a limited budget. It comprehensively undercuts its closest rival Kia Sonet which starts at Rs 6.71 lakh. It isn’t the concept of giving a bare-borne base model for garnering the most affordable tag, it also brings value with its fully-loaded trim which maxes out at Rs 9.45 lakh.
