Know which amazing features will be introduced in the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.

top features of xuv 700

The new Mahindra XUV700 is all set to make a grand premier in coming days, which undoubtedly is going to be a new remarkable milestone from the Indian UV specialist. The new XUV700 will be replacing the existing XUV500 in the lineup, and will take on the all new list of competitors like Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.

To keep up with the competition, the new Mahindra XUV700 will be equipped with top-notch features, some of which are going to be segment-first. Following is a list of features which are going to make their way in the new XUV700:

Auto Booster Headlamps

While all the other SUVs in its segment have adapted to LED headlamps, the Mahindra XUV700, while having them as well, have levelled up the game by featuring the ‘auto booster’ function. The auto booster headlamps of the Mahindra XUV700 do switch on automatically with a longer range whenever the vehicle crosses the speed mark of 80 kmph. This feature will surely come handy for driving in night conditions, or the places with low visibility. For auto booster headlamps, the XUV700 will come with additional pair of lamps apart from the conventional low beam low range lights.

Largest-in-class ‘skyroof’

Again, while all the SUVs in the segment of premium midsize SUVs are now featuring a panoramic sunroof, the Mahindra XUV700 is going to make a benchmark by offering a panoramic sunroof which is largest in its class. Mahindra is calling it ‘skyroof’, and rightfully justifying its name, this huge sunroof gives a very clear view of the sky above, thanks to its large glass panels. This new panoramic sunroof measures 1360 mm long and 870 mm wide, which is clearly bigger than the sunroofs of all the other vehicles in its segment. Though, it is still not clear whether this sunroof will be a voice operated unit like in MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.

Personalized Safety Alerts

All the cars in the Indian market have already got the feature of safety alert as standard, according to which the car gives a ‘beep sound’ in every 60 seconds after breaching the 80 kmph mark and continuous ‘beeps’ after the car crosses 120 kmph mark. However, the Mahindra XUV700 is giving it a thoughtful touch – it will speak a personalized message to remind you to slow down, every time you cross the speed limits. This personalized message can be pre-recorded in the car’s system in the voice of your loved ones.

Smart ‘flush-type’ Door Handles

We have already seen flush-type door handles in much more premium cars like Range Rover, Mercedes Benz S-Class and Porsche Taycan. However, the Mahindra XUV700 is all set to make this feature available in a much more affordable offering compared to the options aforementioned. Like the XUV500 which features vertical ‘cheetah claw’ door handles which is a segment-unique feature, the flush type smart door handles too will be a segment-first thing. These door handles do pop out whenever one unlocks the vehicle, allowing the owner to pull it to open the door. These kind of door handles do give a clean look to the side of the vehicle.

Dual Split Infotainment Screen

This feature first debuted in the Mercedes Benz S-Class, and then it was followed by other offerings from Mercedes Benz as well as some other cars globally. The new Mahindra XUV700 will have a large rectangular layout which will comes with two screens integrated in it. While the one behind the steering wheel will serve as a full TFT instrument console, the screen to the left of it will be a touchscreen unit, which, in all likelihood, will come with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto as well as other connectivity options, including telematics.

360-degree Camera

Some of the spy pictures of the Mahindra XUV700 have revealed that the car will come with a camera at the front. This signals that the new XUV700 will feature a 360-degree camera system for around the view assistance while parking. Now, this feature is actually not a segment-first anymore, as the MG Hector Plus as well as Hyundai Alcazar both now come with this system. However, there is an additional possibility that the side cameras can serve as lane watching cameras too, much like we have seen recently in the Alcazar.

Flat Bottom Steering Wheel

The spy pictures also have revealed that the new Mahindra XUV700 will be the first vehicle from Mahindra to come with a flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel. The steering wheel, like the current unit, will feature audio, Bluetooth, cruise control and voice command buttons, and will serve both tilt and telescopic adjustment features.

Drive Mode Selector

Going by the spy pictures, one more thing is quite clear that Mahindra XUV700 will feature multiple drive modes, which is quite evident by the round selector knob positioned behind the gear lever. While the Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari too features the same, the new XUV700 will offer more functional modes in correlation with the optional all-wheel drive system which will be offered – something which the competition simply misses out on currently.

Powered Front Seats

Currently, the Mahindra XUV500 offers electrical adjustments for the driver’s seat. However, in all likelihood, the new XUV700 might come with powered buttons for the passenger side front seat as well. Currently, the MG Hector Plus offers this feature in its diesel-manual and petrol-automatic variants.

Expected Engine Options

The new Mahindra XUV700, as confirmed by the company, will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines, both of which will be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options as well as optional all wheel drive. The petrol engine here will be the 2.0-liter four cylinder turbocharged ‘mStallion’ engine, which is already there in the Thar. However, here in the XUV700, it will be re-tuned to produce more power output – roughly around 200 PS. Also on offer will be a more powerful version of the current 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine from the XUV500.
