Audi e-Tron Range Brought to Indian Shores, Prices Begin at Rs. 99.99 Lakh

Audi has launched its electric SUV, the e-tron in India. See key details of Audi e-tron EV like drive range, 0-100 kmph, charging time, interior & exterior updates, features and more.

Following its European peers like Mercedes Benz and Jaguar, Audi has commenced its journey on the route of electrification in India, by launching the e-tron range of electric SUVs. Available with the three different models – e-tron 50, e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback 55, the range of the Audi e-tron has received a starting price of Rs. 99.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings of all the models of the Audi e-tron range can be done either at any one of the authorized Audi dealerships or online at Audi India’s website at a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh.

2021 Audi e-tron: Exterior

The Audi e-tron is based on the same new generation design language which is there in its other IC-engine Audi SUVs like the Q5 and Q8. The e-tron range gets silver finished chrome grille flanked with all LED headlamps. The e-tron Sportback comes with a distinctive coupe like roofline with a notchback design for the rear. However, it shares its frontal styling with the standard e-tron.

All the variants of the Audi e-tron get 5-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, and keeping in mind the Indian conditions, they come wrapped with high profile tyres. At the back, both the e-tron standard and Sportline versions get a sleek LED light bar across the width of the boot, thus connecting the LED tail lamps on either end.

2021 Audi e-tron: Interior

On the inside, all the variants of the Audi e-tron come equipped with an 8.8-inch touchscreen unit for infotainment system and climate controls, apart from a 10.1-inch fully digital TFT instrument console. This variant can also be had with Audi’s ‘virtual cockpit’ display as an optional fitment.

The e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback 55, in addition, get extra equipment in the form of matrix LED headlamps, virtual cockpit display, adaptive air suspension, cruise control, four zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable progressive steering wheel and powered tailgate. Both these variants are available with an optional ‘Technology’ pack, which consists of features like 16-speaker 705W Bang & Olufsensound system, air purifier, 30-colour ambient lighting and 360-degree parking camera.

2021 Audi e-tron: Powertrain

The Audi e-tron range is being offered with two different powertrain options, both of which come with all wheel drive configuration with motors placed on both the axles. The dual motor setup in the entry-level e-tron 50 produces 313 bhp of maximum power and 540 Nm of maximum torque and can cover 0-100 kmph in 6.8 seconds. The 71 kWh battery of the e-tron 55 promises a range of 264-379 km (WLTP claimed).

The same 71 kWh battery is being offered in the e-tron 55 and e-tron 55 Sportback, both of which come with a dual motor setup which make 408 bhp of maximum power and 664 Nm of maximum torque, and propel the SUV from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds. Audi also offers a bigger 95 kWh battery in these two variants, the maximum range of which is rated at 359-484 km (WLTP combined).

With a standard 11 kW AC charger, the bigger 95 kWh battery takes 8.5 hours to charge up to 80 per cent, while a 150 kW DC fast charger does the same in just 30 minutes.

2021 Audi e-tron: Variants and Prices

The entry-level Audi e-tron 50 is priced at Rs. 99.99 lakh, which undercuts both of its direct rivals, the Mercedes Benz EQC (Rs. 1.07 crore) and Jaguar i-Pace (Rs. 1.06 crore). The more premium variants, e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback 55 are priced at Rs. 1.16 crore and Rs. 1.18 crore respectively (all prices ex-showroom, India).
