10 Most Affordable Cars With Premium Factory Fitted Music System

The audio system in the cars have come a long way from just a unit supporting radio and cassettes to the present day touchscreens compatible with Apple Carplay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and even third-party music streaming applications in some cases. At the same time, gone are those days when premium music systems from well-renowned sound specialists were restricted only to luxury offerings, for now many affordable mass market cars too are being equipped with the same.

Following is a list of ten most affordable cars in India to feature a premium factory-fitted music system:-

Hyundai i20

The Hyundai i20 is currently the most affordable car in India to feature a premium BOSE audio system with 6 speakers. This premium sound system is being offered in i20 in its Asta and Asta (O) variants. The Asta variant comes with either a 1.2-liter petrol engine (83 PS/113 Nm) with 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox options, or a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine (120 PS/172 Nm) with 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT. The Asta (O) comes, on the other hand, comes with 1.2-liter petrol with manual, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol with DCT and a 1.5-liter diesel (100 PS/240 Nm) with 6-speed manual.

Kia Sonet

Apart from the i20, the Kia Sonet is another sub-four meter car which comes equipped with a 6-speaker audio system from BOSE. This particular feature can be had in the HTX+ and GTX+ trims of the Kia Sonet. The HTX+ variant is available with a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol (120 PS/172 Nm) with a 6-speed iMT and a 1.5-liter diesel (100 PS/240 Nm). The GTX+ variant is available with 1.0-liter turbo-petrol with both 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT and the 1.5-liter diesel with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Hyundai Creta

The next Hyundai car to feature a premium BOSE audio system after i20 is the hugely popular Creta. The second generation Hyundai Creta comes with a premium 8-speaker audio system from BOSE in its top-spec SX(O) variant. This variant can be had with a 1.5-liter petrol engine (115 PS/144 Nm) with CVT, 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/250 Nm) with 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic or a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm) with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Kia Seltos

Like its sibling from Hyundai, the Creta, the Kia seltos too has been equipped with the same 8-speaker audio system from BOSE. However, unlike in the Creta, the Seltos comes with this system in multiple variants, or to be specifica, in its HTX+, GTX and GTX+ variants.

The engine options available in the HTX+ variant are a 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/250 Nm), with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The GTX and GTX+ variants are being offered with a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm), with both 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT gearbox options, with the GTX+ also offered with the 1.5-liter diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Like the Creta, its seven seater iteration, the Alcazar, too comes equipped with a premium BOSE audio system with 8 speakers with subwoofer. This premium sound system can be had in the mid-spec Platinum and top-spec Signature variants. Both these variants are offered with the choices of a 2.0-liter petrol engine (160 PS/192 Nm) and a 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/250 Nm). The transmission options available with both the engines are 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox, with the latter present in the Optional trim of both these variants.

Tata Harrier

One of the most fun to drive SUVs in India, the Tata Harrier also gets a fine-sounding audio system – a 9-speaker music system from JBL, with subwoofer and amplifier. This premium sound system is available in the XZ and XZ+ trims of the Tata Harrier. Both these variants come with a 2.0-liter diesel engine, which makes 170 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque, and can be had with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options.

Tata Safari

The same JBL-sourced 9-speaker music system with subwoofer and amplifier from Harrier is present in its six/seven seater version as well, the Safari. The Tata Safari, like the Harrier, comes with this premium sound system in XZ and XZ+ variants. And just like in the Harrier, a 2.0-liter diesel engine, which pumps out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque, is available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options in both these variants.

MG Hector

MG Hector is the most affordable car in India to get a premium sound system from Infinity – in this case, it being an 8-speaker unit with subwoofer and amplifier. The said feature is available only in the Sharp variant of the SUV, which is being offered with both the engine options on offer. While the 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine (144 PS/250 Nm) in this variant is available with three transmission options of 6-speed manual, CVT and a 6-speed DCT on offer, the 2.0-liter diesel engine (170 PS/350 Nm) is there with a 6-speed manual gearbox. In addition to this sound system, the MG Hector also comes with an in-built ‘Gaana’ app for OTA music streaming.

Hyundai Elantra

Another car here in this list to feature an Infinity audio system apart from MG Hector is the Hyundai Elantra. The premium sedan from Hyundai gets an 8-speaker system with subwoofer and amplifier from Infinity. The entire range of Elantra – SX and SX(O) – comes with this sound system as standard.
