Following the launches of the updated Xpulse 200 4V and Pleasure Xtec, Hero MotoCorp has brought in a new range-topping variant of the Xtreme 160R. Named as Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition, the new variant is positioned above the dual disc brake variant of the motorcycle.
Price
The new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition has been priced at Rs 1.16 lakh, which makes it more expensive than the dual disc brake variant (Rs 1.14 lakh) and single disc brake variant (Rs 1.11 lakh). With the price of Rs 1.16 lakh, the new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition is priced similar to the limited-run ‘100 Million Edition’ version of the motorcycle (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
What’s new
As the name hints, the new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition is a stealthier looking version of the regular Xtreme 160R, with an all-new complete matt black paint scheme. This new livery is accentuated with red highlights on the front fascia, badges on side panels, engine casing and stripes of alloy wheels. Apart from this new visual update, the Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition also gets additional features over the other two variants, such as a USB charging socket, brightness adjustment for the full LCD instrument console and a new gear indicator.
What’s been kept intact
The original design and mechanicals of the Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition remain unchanged over the regular versions of the motorcycle. It continues to be a compact but striking and muscular looking motorcycle, with features like a full LED headlamp, tail lamp and turn indicators, full LCD instrument console, multi-spoke alloy wheels, recessed pillion grab rails, wraparound design for the fuel tank and stubby exhaust pipe.
The Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition retains the four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, 163cc engine, which is exclusively made for the Xtreme 160R by Hero MotoCorp. Coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine makes 15.2 bhp @ 8,500 rpm of maximum power and 14 Nm @ 6,500 rpm of maximum torque.
Under the skin too, the Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition gets the same suspension and frame as the regular Xtreme 16R. The motorcycle is designed around a diamond frame and is fitted with conventional hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and an adjustable mono-shock. This new range-topping variant gets a disc brake setup on both front and rear wheels and tips the weighing scales at 139.5 kg.
Competition
The new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition is priced in the premium end of the 150-160cc commuters, the segment of which also has other motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar NS160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Honda XBlade, Yamaha FZ-S and Suzuki Gixxer 150.
