Facelifted Hyundai Creta launched officially in Indonesia, will come to India in 2022
After releasing a series of teasers through official sketches, Hyundai has officially unveiled the facelifted Creta at the GIIAS 2021 motor show in Indonesia. The new Hyundai Creta gets comprehensive updates to the front profile and mild revisions to the side and rear profiles, along with feature additions in the cabin. For the Indonesian market, the new facelifted Hyundai Creta will be made available with only one petrol engine.
What’s new on the outside?
The biggest change in the new Hyundai Creta is at the front, where the SUV has received an all-new fascia. The front grille has grown large in size and sharper in its appearance, which is in line with the aggressive-looking grille of the global-spec Tucson. The new ‘Parametric grille’ comes with daytime running LEDs integrated into its sides, which make them look like parts of the grille. The headlamps too have been restyled with vertically laid LED projectors, and at the same time, they are now positioned a bit lower than before. Other changes in the new Creta include silver-coloured mouldings all around, reworked alloy wheel design and revised tail lamps and boot lid design.
What’s new on the inside?
Hyundai has made no changes to the cabin layout of the new Creta, with the SUV getting the same dashboard, centre console and steering wheel as the current model. However, in comes the new 10.25-inch full TFT instrument console which we have already seen on the Alcazar. The Indonesian model has been updated with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-speaker BOSE audio system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, air purifier, cooled glove box and ambient lighting, all of which are already available in the currently sold India-spec version.
Addition of new safety and security features
Another big addition to the equipment list of the updated Hyundai Creta is the range of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The new ADAS package includes features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring system, autonomous emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert. In addition to these new safety features, the Creta has also been updated with new security features to its BlueLink connected car technology, such as stolen vehicle immobilization, stolen vehicle tracking and valet parking mode.
Powertrain option
For Indonesia, the updated Hyundai Creta gets only the 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, and misses out on the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine which is also sold in India. This engine retains its maximum power and torque outputs of 115 PS and 144 Nm respectively and is offered with both 6-speed manual and CVT options.
When will it come to India?
India is a significant market for the Hyundai Creta, and this facelifted version will undoubtedly make its way to the Indian shores as well. For the Indian market, the new Creta will arrive with all these changes and feature additions and the additional diesel and turbo-petrol engine options currently available. Expect this new version of the Creta to come to India in the second half of 2022.
