After a long absence from the Indian car market for almost two years, the Audi Q7 has finally made a comeback. Audi has launched the Q7 as a petrol-only SUV, with the prices of the SUV now starting at Rs 79.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
2022 Audi Q7 – Variants and Prices
The new Audi Q7 has been launched in two variants. While the base-spec Premium Plus variant is priced at Rs 79.99 lakh, the more premium Technology variant will set you back by Rs 88.33 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, India). Both the variants are available in the colour options of Carrara White, Mythos Black, Samurai Grey, Navarra Blue and Floret Silver.
2022 Audi Q7 – Exterior
Compared to the 2019 model, the new 2022 model of the Audi Q7 has got several minute tweaks to its exterior. However, it continues to retain the huge stance and silhouette of its predecessor. The new version of the Q7 gets an octagonal single-frame grille and new Matrix LED headlamps with revised daytime running LEDs at the front. The front bumper has been revised too, with larger air intakes.
The side profile has minimal changes, save for the new design for the alloy wheels. At the back, the Q7 gets revised LED tail lamps, a reworked bumper and a new chrome strip flowing across the width of the boot lid. The changes to the front and rear bumpers increase the length of the new Audi Q7 by 11mm.
2022 Audi Q7 – Interior
Compared to the outside, the cabin of the new Audi Q7 gets more changes. The layout of the dashboard is all new and is inspired by the bigger Q8. One can choose from two leather upholstery options of Okapi Brown and Saiga Beige. The majority of the change is in the centre console, with the integration of a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the top and an 8.6-inch touchscreen for controlling the climate control and other functions of the cabin. The new version continues to get Audi’s virtual cockpit for the instrument console, which now runs on second-generation software.
2022 Audi Q7 – Features
The Audi Q7 is offered as a seven-seater SUV as standard and gets features like four-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, configurable ambient lighting, powered front seats with memory function, Bang & Olufsen audio system and electrically foldable third-row seats. The safety equipment list is also extensive, with features like eight airbags, park assist, run-flat tyres, 360-degree 3D surround camera, ADAS functions and ESC.
2022 Audi Q7 – Engine and Transmission
Both the variants of the Audi Q7 come standard with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine as the only engine option available for the SUV. Assisted with a 48V mild-hybrid system, the new engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and produces 340 bhp of maximum power and 500 Nm of maximum torque. Available with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the new Q7 takes 5.9 seconds to reach the 100 kmph mark from standstill and has an electronically restricted top speed of 250 kmph. The Q7 is also available with adaptive air suspension and Audi Drive Select with seven drive modes.
2022 Audi Q7 – Competition
With the new pricing, the Audi Q7 undercuts all of its direct rivals, including BMW X5, Mercedes Benz GLE, Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90.
