Audi RS 5 Sportback Added to India Lineup, Priced at Rs. 1.04 Crore

Audi India has expanded its lineup of performance oriented cars with the all new RS 5 Sportback. Priced at Rs. 1.04 crore (ex-showroom, India), the new Audi RS 5 Sportback will be brought in India through CBU route and will be available in one standard fully loaded variant.

2021 Audi RS 5 Sportback: Exterior Highlights

As with all the previous iterations, the new Audi RS 5 Sportback is based on the standard A5 sedan. However, it comes with a host of cosmetic differences to set it apart from its vanilla version.

To start with, the Audi RS 5 Sportback has a glossy black RS honeycomb grille at the front, which is flanked with Matrix LED headlamps. Suiting its sporty image are the aggressively styled RS-spec front and rear bumpers with silver highlights and sporty looking 19-inch 10-spoke machined alloy wheels. The car gets additional styling bits such as frameless doors, integrated boot spoiler, LED door projection and LED tail lamps with dynamic turn indicators.

The new Audi RS 5 Sportback has been made available in a total of eight color options, namely Sonoma Green, Glacier White, Nardo Grey, Daytona Grey, Mythos Black, Turbo Blue, Navarra Blue and Tango Red.

2021 Audi RS 5 Sportback: Interior Highlights

On the inside, the new Audi RS 5 Sportback creates a style statement with black and grey Alcantara leather upholstery in combination with aluminium inlays. This sporty iteration of the A5 sedan comes with many other bits unique to it, such as sporty steering wheel with paddle shifters, stainless steel pedals and RS scuff plates.

The other premium features of the cabin of the Audi RS 5 Sportback include sporty powered front seats with massage function, memory function for the driver seat, panoramic sunroof, three zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, Audi virtual cockpit plus instrument console with performance oriented gauges, MMI navigation plus with MMI touch and a 180W audio system with 10-speakers.

When it comes to safety, the Audi RS 5 Sportback is equipped with six airbags, auto-dimming frameless inside rear view mirror, power folding rear view mirrors with heating and memory function, powered boot lid, hill hold assist and parking aid plus with rear view camera.

2021 Audi RS 5: Powertrain

The V8 engine of the previous generation Audi RS 5 Sportback has been ditched in favor of the new 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. However, the performance is better than before, with maximum power and torque outputs of 450 bhp and 600 Nm respectively. The car can do 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.9 seconds, and has an electronically restricted top speed of 250 kmph.

To make it suit the needs of driving enthusiasts, the new Audi RS 5 Sportback features two different RS driving modes. The performance oriented engine of the RS 5 Sportback gets the assistance of Quattro four-wheel drive system with self-locking central differential and RS Sports suspension setup.
