Benelli has expanded its BS6 lineup of motorcycles with the all new 502C, which is the company’s first ever cruiser motorcycle in India. The new Benelli 502C has been launched in a single variant, which has been priced at Rs. 4.98 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
2021 Benelli 502C: Design
The new Benelli TNT 502C bears a resemblance with the Ducati Divael in the way it looks and its stance. The motorcycle comes with a wide and upswept handlebar, low slung stance and laid back stance with long wheelbase, all of which stay close to the design ethos of a traditional cruiser motorcycle. However, the motorcycle packs in a number of modern design cues, such as a sloping LED headlamp with characteristic horse-shoe-shaped daytime running LED, LED turn indicators, LED tail lamp, swooping 21-liter fuel tank and minimalist tail section, which truly make it a modern day motorcycle.
2021 Benelli 502C: Features
In addition to the complete LED lighting all around, the Benelli 502C also comes with a modern day fully digital instrument console, which is easily the best in the niche segment to which it belongs. The fully digital blue backlit unit shows readouts of speed, engine rpm, fuel level, engine temperature, selected gear, clock, odometer and trip meters. It also comes with a right mounted double barrel exhaust pipe and rear tyre hugger with number plate mounted on it.
2021 Benelli 502C: Powertrain and Performance
The Benelli 502C has been given the same four-stroke, liquid cooled, fuel injected, parallel twin 500cc engine, which powers Benelli’s other middleweight motorcycles like TRK 502 range and Leoncino 500. Here in the 502C, the engine makes 47.5 PS @ 8,500 rpm of maximum power and 46 Nm @ 6,000 rpm of maximum torque. A 6-speed gearbox is used to channel the power to rear wheel.
2021 Benelli 502C: Chassis
Underneath its distinctive design, the Benelli 502C sits on a trellis frame and gets a combination of 41mm upside down hydraulic telescopic forks and a fully adjustable monoshock. The motorcycle has been fitted with Pirelli Angel GT tyres at both the ends and a braking system of dual 280 mm petal discs at the front and a single 240 mm petal disc brake at the rear, both of which are assisted with a dual channel ABS as standard.
2021 Benelli 502C: Pricing and Rivals
The Benelli 502C has been launched at a price of Rs. 4.98 lakh, and is available in two colour options of Matte Black and Matte Cognac Red, both of which command same price. The nearest and only competitor to the Benelli 502C happens to be the Kawasaki Vulcan S, which is priced at Rs. 6.04 lakh. It will also find a suitable competition in the upcoming 650cc cruiser motorcycle from Royal Enfield.
