BMW M5 Launched At 2018 Indian Auto Expo

The most powerful M car from the performance division of German luxury carmaker has been launched at the ongoing 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The BMW M5 has been launched and comes with a Rs. 1.43 crore (ex-showroom, India) price tag and was showcased at the ongoing biennial event. Not only this is the fastest M car ever but also the 1^st M car to be offered with an all-wheel-drive setup. The same setup comes with an option of selecting rear-wheel-drive only, this is what aided the BMW M5 in setting the world record for the longest drift ever at a 374 km mark.

Under the hood, we get a 4.4-litre V8 which can produce 600PS of peak power output and 750 Nm of torque. The increased power and torque figures come as a courtesy of the heavily retuned engine which gets new turbochargers, increased fuel injection pressure, map-controlled variable oil pump and indirect charge air cooling. The result of these upgrades is that the all-new M5 accelerates from 0-100 kmph in less than 3.4 seconds and will go on to hit a 200 kmph mark from a standstill in under 11.1 seconds. The top speed of the M5 clocks out at 305 kmph and the engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The suspension setup on this performance machine can be set up to offer different driving dynamics. The driver gets to choose between sport, sport plus and comfort driving modes. The BMW M5 is a completely built unit import and will rival the likes of Mercedes-AMG E63.
