Though this time, the Indian Auto Expo 2018 witnessed the absence of some big shot auto makers. However, the fervour and fascination was not seen missing as the glamour quotient was added to the motor show in the form of celebrities from Bollywood and cricketing world. The famed personalities acted as a major crowd puller at the biennial auto show held at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh from 9th Feb – 14th Feb 2018.  So let’s check out the who’s who present at the Auto Expo 2018.

Sachin Tendulkar

The cricket idol was here for the unveiling of BMW India’s M5 sedan and the launch of first-ever BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo (GT) at the 2018 Auto Expo. He was joined by BMW India Head Vikram Pawah at the unveiling of the luxury car. The petrol powered BMW 6 Series is tagged at Rs 58.9 lakh, while its diesel version will hit the showrooms in the second half of the year.

Shah Rukh Khan

Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan also the brand ambassador of Hyundai Motor India Limited. King Khan endorsed PM Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign by unveiling ‘Swachh Can’, a portable covered bin for Hyundai car users. The South Korea based car manufacturer extended its 19-year-old association with Mr. Khan till April 2019. At the auto event, the second largest passenger carmaker in the country also unveiled the facelifted Hyundai Elite i20 hatchback.

Akshay Kumar

One of the fittest among Bollywood male celebrities, Akshay Kumar made an intense entry sitting on top of the new compact truck, Tata Intra, introduced by the Tata Motors. Besides Tata Motors, the Khiladi Kumar of bollywood also visited Honda two-wheeler pavilion at the motor show as a brand ambassador of the Japanese company. He threw light on the Honda’s latest naked sensation X-Blade motorcycle, which is designed keeping in mind the young trendsetters of today. Furthermore, he also spearheaded Honda two-wheeler’s most recent road safety campaign ‘Helmet On Life On’.

Sonakshi Sinha

The Dabangg girl of Bollywood Sonakshi Sinha was at the stall of leading Indian auto design house DC. Here Sonakshi unveiled DC TCA sports car, a new a mid-engined premium sports car by DC. The TCA design is inspired from the Ferrari La Ferrari and the Pagani Zonda. Here the TCA acronym stands for – Titanium, Carbon and Aluminium; as the car sees extensive use of carbon fibre. Prior to TCA, Dilip Chhabria had designed India’s first sports car christened as – the Avanti.

Gautam Gambhir

Former Indian opener and aggressive cricketer Gautam Gambhir launched the ‘Finetza’ by Pinnacle Speciality Vehicles (PSV) at the Auto Expo 2018.  Gautam Gambhir is the brand ambassador for PSV. Finetza, which is based on the Force Traveller Class, is India’s first expandable and luxuriously customised Motorhome. The customisation cost of the vehicle, to make it into a Motorhome, would fall in the Rs 15-25 lakh price bracket.

John Abraham

An avid biker himself Bollywood actor John Abraham, made a grand ‘Dhoom’ style entry on the all-new Yamaha YZF-R3 sports bike. The Yamaha brand ambassador arrived on the stage with helmet on, promoting the trending ‘safety first’ theme. The Yamaha sports bike will be priced at Rs 348,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available at select authorized Yamaha dealerships across the nation. The new YZF-R3 is now equipped with dual channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) technology and is shod with premium Metzeler radial tyres.

Mohammad Azharuddin

The Mumbai headquartered two-wheeler manufacturer roped in Veteran cricketer Azharuddin for the launch of their 250cc ‘Scorpion’ motorcycle at the 2018 Auto Expo. The company showcased as many as 6 motor cycles comprising of Knight Rider 170cc, Scorpion 200cc, Skipper 125cc, Royal+ 110cc, Turbo 170cc and the Zontes R-250 at their stall. All the motorcycles will hit the company showrooms in March this with price ranging from Rs 44,000 to Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom).

Rahul Khanna & Kanan Gill

Stylish Bollywood actor and handsome heartthrob Rahul Khanna along with Kanan Gill, Indian stand-up comedian, actor and YouTuber was spotted at the Mercedes-Benz India pavilion. The German luxury marquee showcased stunning line up of cars at the Auto Expo 2018.

Taapsee Pannu

Young Bollywood sensation and the lead actor of critically acclaimed Hindi feature film ‘Pink’, Taapsee Pannu unveiled Honda two-wheeler range comprising of new 160cc sporty motorcycle X-Blade and the 5th generation Honda Activa 5G at the Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI). Honda Activa is the largest selling two-wheeler in India.
