Sandeep Mahajan has been leading various verticals in Goodyear since last 8 years.
The global leader in tyre manufacturing, Goodyear has appointed Sandeep Mahajan as its new Managing Director for its India operations. He succeeds Rajeev Anand. Mahajan’s tenure has already begun from June 1st 2020 and would continue for the next five years or up to the date of superannuation or retirement from the company.
Over the past 8 years, Sandeep Mahajan has shown his leadership qualities by leading Goodyear’s various business verticals right from Commercial, OTR, Farm to Consumer businesses. His role in making Goodyear market leader in the competitive Farm segment in India has been instrumental in particular. He has got 29 years of cumulative work experience with Tata Steel Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and LG Electronics.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Sandeep is a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Management from IIM, Bangalore.
Speaking on getting this bigger role, Sandeep Mahajan expressed his gratitude towards Goodyear India for giving him an opportunity to lead the India business. He stated that together as ONE TEAM, he along with his fellow teammates would work to enhance Goodyear’s footprint in India. Mahajan also thanked Rajeev for his guidance in the last eight years and also wished him best for the future.
The previous MD, Rajeev Anand has moved up to become Chairman of Board of India operations with effect from June 1, 2020 till December 31, 2020. Previously, Anand has held senior roles at Goodyear which includes Chairman and Managing Director of Goodyear India, Manufacturing Director – ASEAN & India, Director Manufacturing & Strategic Initiatives – India and Chief Operations Officer. Overall, he has massive experience of close to 38 years at Goodyear. He is particularly credited for significant progress of Goodyear in the country under his leadership.
Welcoming the new MD, Rajeev Anand, Chairman of Goodyear India commented that as he superannuates from the company, he is delighted to hand over this role to Sandeep. He further congratulated Sandeep on his new role and highlighted that Sandeep has made a significant contribution to Goodyear Tyres India in the past eight years. He also added that under Sandeep’s leadership, Goodyear will further strengthen its position in the Indian tyre market. Rajeev also appreciated Sandeep’s deep knowledge in retail and his diverse experience across domestic as well as international market that will help the tyre maker grow its business in the India region.
