Hero Motocorp has strengthened its presence in the premium 125cc scooter segment with the new Maestro Edge 125. The new Hero Maestro Edge 125 gets a slew of new design changes and new features, which has re-positioned it in the premium end of 125cc scooters.
The variant lineup of the new Hero Maestro 125 has also been revised, with the scooter now available in a total of three variants. All of these variants are mechanically same, but differ on the basis of features and color options available in them. Following is a detailed description of all the three variants of the Hero Maestro Edge 125:
Hero Maestro Edge 125 Alloy Wheels Drum Brake
Price: Rs. 72,250
This is the base variant in the lineup of Hero Maestro Edge 125. However, it gets a majority of new features and changes which have been introduced in the scooter. At the front, this variant gets a new redesigned sleeker looking headlamp cowl, in which new dual LED projector headlamps are integrated. With this, the Maestro Edge becomes the first scooter in its category to get projector headlamps.
This base variant also gets other changes introduced in the scooter, such as revised front turn indicators and rear view mirrors, triangular daytime running LED on the front apron, diamond cut alloy wheels and fully digital blue-backlit instrument console, which has readouts for speed, fuel level, eco mode, service indicator, clock, odometer and trip meters. The console here also supports Bluetooth connectivity with call alerts and turn-by-tur navigation.
Other prominent features of this base variant include side stand engine cut-off, external fuel filler, integrated braking system (IBS), multi-functional ignition key hole, LED tail lamp, USB mobile charging socket and LED illumination for under-seat storage compartment.
The color options available in this variant are Panther Black, Candy Blazing Red, Matte Techno Blue and Pearl Silver White. In the Pearl Silver White, the seat has been finished in brown color, which is otherwise black in other variants.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 Alloy Wheels Disc Brake
Price: Rs. 76,500
This second variant in the lineup of Hero Maestro Edge 125 gets all the features which are there in the base Alloy Wheels Drum Brake variant. However, in addition, it gets a 190mm disc brake in place of 130mm drum brake at the front.
This variant gets all the color options of the base variant, and in addition, it gets a couple of new ‘prismatic’ color options – Prismatic Yellow and Prismatic Purple. In these ‘prismatic’ color options, the scooter comes with a much sportier looking graphics on front apron and side body panels. In addition, the front apron in these colors get a dual tone treatment. These ‘prismatic’ colors carry no extra premium over the other regular color options.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 Alloy Wheels Disc Brake Prismatic Connected
Price: Rs. 79,750
This range topping variant in the lineup of Hero Maestro Edge 125 is available only in the ‘prismatic’ color options – Prismatic Yellow and Prismatic Purple. In addition to all the features of the base variant, it gets Hero’s self-developed ‘HConnect’ advanced telematics package.
The ‘HConnect’ package consists of features like live vehicle tracking with accurate path and current speed, driving score with driving behavioral patterns, geo fence alert, last parking location, current location, speed limit alert, topple alert via SMS and app notification, tow away alert, trip analysis and vehicle start alert. All these features can be tracked and have its alerts via a dedicated smartphone application.
Hero Maestro 125 Common Specifications
All the variants of the Hero Maestro Edge 125 have been bestowed with a four stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, 124.6cc engine, which makes 9 bhp @ 7000 rpm of maximum power and 10.4 Nm @ 5500 rpm.
The scooter come equipped with telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and unit swing with spring loaded hydraulic damper at the rear. The scooter rides on a 12-inch front wheel and 10-inch rear wheel, with 130mm drum brakes at both the ends. In the disc brake variants though, there is a 190mm disc brake at the front in place of the drum brake.
The updated Hero Maestro Edge 125 comes at the right time, when each of its 125cc rival has been updated with new features. The scooter rivals against the TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia 125, Suzuki Burgman Street 125 and Aprilia SR 125
