India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Moto Corp finally showcased the much awaited Hero XPulse 200 at the Auto Expo 2018. With Hero XPulse 200, the company is ready to create a new segment with a reliable yet affordable adventure motorcycle. The dual-purpose bike Xpulse is likely to go on sale by sometime this year. The price of the motorcycle is yet to be disclosed, but considering looks and appeal, it will fall somewhere close to 1 lakh or slightly above. It is the Hero MotoCorp’s answer to the Royal Enfield Himalayan which was earlier introduced with fuel injection mechanism.
The adventure motorcycle that witnessed its international debut at EICMA was eagerly awaited by the expedition and adventure fraternity in the country. The Hero XPulse takes the baton to a new high where its predecessor Hero Impulse left. According to the company officials, Hero MotoCorp has interviewed numerous adventure tourers who use their regular bikes on the journey, which are not meant for it.
In terms of overall appeal, the fresh looking speedometer receives all the desired functions, while one can connect their mobile phone to get the navigation on screen. Other thrilling elements include full-LED headlamps, protective wind-shield, luggage rack and knuckle guards, whilst on/off road usage has been made more secure with ABS feature. Hero XPulse comes with dual purpose tyres (21-inch front and 18-inch rear) with 190mm and 140mm front and rear suspension respectively together with a good 220 mm of ground clearance.
The Hero XPulse bike shares the similar new 200cc engine, currently being used on the Hero Xtreme 200, but with fuel injection technology. The 4-stroke engine is marred to 5-speed transmission that gives out up to 18.5bhp of power and can reach a peak torque of 17.1Nm. As per the company, the bike is designed keeping in mind young and thrill-seeking adventurous biking fanatics of the country, wherein the Hero XPulse emerges as an ideal dynamic, dual purpose and technologically advanced bike.
Alongside, at the 2018 Auto Expo, Hero MotoCorp also showcased the larger capacity versions of the Hero Duet and Hero Maestro Edge automatic scooters in the form of Hero Duet 125 and the Hero Maestro Edge 125.
