Honda has expanded its lineup of performance-oriented motorcycles by bringing in the new CB 200X. The semi-faired Honda CB 200X is an urban tourer which is based on the Hornet 2.0 sporty commuter, with some noteworthy visual enhancements over the latter. The Honda CB 200X will be available in a single variant, which is priced at Rs. 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
2021 Honda CB 200X: Design
The lean, tall and sharp design of the Honda CB 200X is on the lines of the more premium parallel-twin middleweight motorcycle, the CB 500X. The frontal look of the Honda CB 200X looks beefy, with a sharp looking all LED headlamp encased within a semi-fairing with pointy extensions flowing downwards. There is also a black colored tall windscreen atop of the headlamp. The unique highlight of the front of the CB 200X has to be the black-colored knuckle guards, which come integrated with LED turn indicators.
Save for this semi-fairing at the front, the rest of the motorcycle is the same as the Hornet 2.0. Both the motorcycles share the fuel tank, side panels and tail section, however, the CB 200X comes stickered with different looking decals.
2021 Honda CB 200X: Features
Apart from the all LED illumination and knuckle guards with LED turn signals, the Honda CB 200X also comes with a fully digital negative display instrument console. Available with five levels of brightness, the instrument console shows readings of speed, engine rpm, fuel level, odometer, two trip meters, gear position and battery level indicator. In addition, the bike gets engine belly pan, split seats, 10-spoke black alloy wheels, stubby exhaust pipe, split pillion grab rails and LED tail lamp with LED turn indicators, all of which have been retained from the Hornet 2.0.
2021 Honda CB 200X: Engine and Transmission
Under the skin, the Honda CB 200X is completely the Hornet 2.0. This means that the CB 200X too is powered by a four-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, 184.4cc engine, which makes a maximum power output of 17.3 bhp and a maximum torque output of 16.1 Nm. Like in the Hornet 2.0, the engine has been coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.
2021 Honda CB 200X: Chassis and Dimensions
Apart from the engine, the rest of the chassis setup too has carried forward from the Hornet 2.0. The CB 200X gets a premium upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the back. The braking system is a combination of a 276mm petal disc at the front and a 220mm petal disc at the rear, with a single channel ABS as standard. The CB 200X rides on the same 17-inch alloy wheels as that of the Hornet, however, here it gets different set of tyres with blocked tread design. Due to additional weight of semi-fairing at the front, the CB 200X weighs 5 kg more than the Hornet 2.0, with its overall kerb weight rated at 147 kg.
