Hyundai, country’s second-largest car manufacturer has added another milestone to its portfolio. Its Creta SUV has recorded commendable sales of more than 5,00,000 units in the Indian market.
Mr Tarun Garg, Director, (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd. commented on this achievement. He stated that in the Indian automobile industry, Hyundai Creta has been the blockbuster model since its launch in 2015. He highlighted that Creta has redefined the SUV landscape in India and its supremacy has transpired the company’s technological prowess and innovation. He added that the Creta SUV has set another benchmark in the domestic automobile industry by crossing the sales mark of 5,00,000 units, reaffirming a legacy of leadership in the SUV segment. Mr Garg also stated that Hyundai continuously strengthens its portfolio with the best-in-segment features and technologically advanced cars to make car buyers’ life happy.

Hyundai has contributed strongly in the Utility Vehicle segment with its four high-performing SUVs, which include Creta, Venue, Tucson and Kona Electric. These four SUVs registered sales of 34 212 units during the period of April to July, this year. This shows that customers have accepted Hyundai SUVs, giving the automobile manufacturer higher brand affinity.
This year, for three consecutive months of May, June and July, the All-New Creta has been the Best-selling SUV 2020. Since launch in March 2020, the new Creta has received over 65,000 bookings. Hyundai’s advanced and globally proven diesel BS6 technology has also gained immense response and its bookings continue to soar. Besides this, the Made-in-India Creta has created waves across 88 nations and cemented its position in the global market as well.
The 2020 Creta comes powered by new BS6 engines, which include 1.5-litre MPi petrol (6MT/ IVT), 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel (6MT/ 6AT) and calibrating 1.4-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol (7DCT). The new Creta comes with 3 drive modes (Eco, Comfort & Sport) and traction control modes (Snow, Sand & Mud). These modes enhance the driving experience and optimise driving comfort across different terrains.
