Kawasaki has showcased its all-new Vulcan S at the ongoing 2018 Indian auto expo. The 650-cc motorcycle is already on sale in the global market but this time around Kawasaki is merely showcasing the two-wheeler at the expo. The bike is showcased in a black colour scheme and the company has confirmed that when launched it will price the motorcycle around Rs. 5,44,000.
Just like the upcoming Royal Enfield twin cylinder motorcycles even the Vulcan S comes with a parallel twin engine. The motorcycle comes with a slipper clutch gearbox which is offered with the company’s clutch assist feature. Another feature of the Vulcan S is the ‘Ergo Fit’ system which means you can adjust the bike to suit your driving position. The foot pegs can be moved forwards or backwards to suit your preferred riding position. The same treatment is available with the seats and the handlebars. In terms of safety, Vulcan S comes with ABS as standard and the bike rides on 160/60 rubbers at the rear and 120/70 in the front. The motorcycle comes with a 17-inch alloy wheel up front whereas the rear gets a 16-inch wheel. In the cruiser segment, this means that Vulcan S is being offered with sports bike tyre sizing, which means not only will the motorcycle handle better, but the rider will also get a wide variety of tyre choices.
In terms of the instrument cluster, Vulcan S comes with a digital monochromatic display which houses speedometer, gear indicator, fuel economy and trip meter. Vulcan S also comes with an analogue rev counter. The engine on the Vulcan s is the same as the one we find in the Ninja 650 and Versys 650. So, we predict the top speed of Vulcan S will be around 210 kmph as the engine will produce 69PS of peak power output and 64 Nm of torque. We also believe the fuel economy of this cruiser will be 21Kmpl.
