The new 2021 Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder is the most affordable Lamborghini badged convertible.
Lamborghini has launched the all-new Huracan EVO RWD Spyder, the most affordable convertible car from the supercar manufacturer in the Indian market. The Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder was launched globally in 2020, and has now joined the coupe version in the lineup. Lamborghini India has priced the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder at Rs 3.54 Crore (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
Exterior Design
The new Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWS Spyder looks completely similar to the coupe version with the fixed roof. However, the keener eyes will easily spot the differences between the two. For starters, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWS Spyder comes with new rear bumper, rear diffuser and front splitter. Rest assured, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWS Spyder continues to be one with fine aerodynamics and sharp design.
Interior Cabin
The interior cabin of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder, understandably, is completely similar to that of its hard top coupe version. The two door two-seater sports car comes with a very modern looking cabin, with a flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel, full TFT instrument console, hexagonal looking AC vents and a slanted center console, which houses toggle-like switches for various functions and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets three different driving modes – Strada, Corsa and Sport, on offer.
Engine and Transmission
Powering the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder is the same 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine which is there in its hard top coupe version, and here too, it is coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The engine here is capable of pumping out 610 PS of maximum power and 560 Nm of maximum torque. The power produced here is channeled to the rear wheels. The engine enables the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder to propel from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds.
Compared to the Lamborghini Huracan EVO AWD Spyder, this new version of the Huracan is slightly toned down in terms of performance. The all-wheel drive version of the car produces 639 PS of power and 600 Nm of torque (29 PS and 40 Nm more than RWD Spyder), while it covers the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.3 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than RWD Spyder).

Chassis
Due to the structural changes carried out in the chassis to accommodate the folding roof, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder weighs almost 120 kg more than its hard top coupe version. The user of the car can drop the roof while on standstill or speeds up to 50 kmph, and the whole process can take just 17 seconds.
The overall chassis of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder is made up of aluminium and carbon fiber, which explains its low dry weight of 1509 kg. In order to facilitate better performance and stability at higher speeds, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder also features an active aerodynamic technology. Termed as ‘Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva’, this system adjusts the flaps at front and rear to switch between maximum downforce and low drag setups.
Price
Lamborghini has priced the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder at Rs. 3.54 Crore (Ex-showroom, India), which is priced at a premium over the standard hard top coupe version. However, it is substantially affordable when compared to all wheel drive version of the Spyder, which sets one back by Rs 4.01 Crore. For those who don’t want the extra dynamism of an AWD car, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder makes up for a better option to go for.
Commenting on the launch of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder, Francesco Scardaoni, Regional Director for Automobili Lamborghini, Asia Pacific, said, “Huracan EVO RWD Spyder is an instinctive driver’s car, engineered for individuals who prefer to experience the feedback and engagement from the set-up of a rear wheel drive car where the electronic intrusion is minimized. As Huracan EVO RWD Spyder features a fun-to-drive experience, it definitely adds vitality to the super sports cars market in India as reflected in the increasing number of supercar aficionados.”
Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India, further added, “India is one of the strategic markets for Lamborghini and we consistently invest to create unique bespoke experiences for our customers. Today is no exception as we deliver the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder to one of our discerning clients. The Huracan EVO RWD Spyder truly doubles the driving fun and we look forward to see out customer and prospects in India enjoying the sense of freedom and spirit of life that open top driving provides.”
