Maruti Futuro-e Revealed At The Auto Expo 2020

The design language of the Futuro-e concept will pave way for forthcoming Maruti cars.

This year’s Auto Expo begins with the unveiling of the awaited Maruti Futuro-e prototype at the India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida. The SUV concept designed by the Maruti engineers gets inventive design interpretation for the future SUVs of the leading carmaker. Conceived keeping in mind youth, Maruti Futuro-e will be offered in petrol as well as electric choice. Dubbed as ‘an Indian car with global sensibilities’, the all-electric concept SUV-coupe will be seen competing future Hyundai Creta models. The company had also filed a copyright for its name some time ago.

Ditching the conventional SUV styling, Maruti Futuro-e gets a sporty silhouette with aggressive face, LED light signature and wide bonnet line. Thick C-pillar with sporty roofline and tail lamp deisgn appear innovative. Other elements that set it apart are its large wheels, a sunroof and camera pods for mirrors. Inside is contemporary and undoubtedly fresh that sees wide screen display at the dashboard. The four-seat concept with blue and ivory theme gets futuristic steering and other displays for interior controls.

As per Maruti, the Futuro-e will be offered with wide range of engine choices like the hybrid and electric. Expected to get petrol powertrain initially, it may also be powered by a DDiS225 1.5L diesel engine. Tight lipped on the launch announcement, Maruti may derive inspiration from this Futuro-e-SUV for its upcoming SUVs.
