Overview
Maruti is going to launch the next generation of its Ciaz premium sedan later this year. The car is sold out of the company’s Nexa dealership. The petrol and diesel models are available in four variants and the 1.4-liter petrol model is also offered with an automatic gearbox option. With 11 models on sale Ciaz is available with a wide range of options and has one to match the needs of every customer.

Price List
The base petrol model of Maruti Ciaz is priced at Rs. 7.83 lakh and the top of the line diesel model is priced at Rs. 11.62 lakh. The base automatic model is priced at Rs. 9. 43 Lakh.

Exterior
The overall design of Maruti Ciaz is very well proportioned. The car looks upscale but when we move to the side the aesthetic scene very simple. At the front, we find a slim chrome grille and swept-back headlamp. At the rear, the design is like the one that we find in the Honda City but as compared to the City, Ciaz’s design is not as sharp and aggressive instead with Maruti Ciaz we get a softer, fluid design.

Maruti Ciaz is 4490 mm long and 1730 mm wide. The car is offered with 170 mm of ground clearance. Customers also get substantial cargo capacity which stands at 510-litres.

Interior
Inside you find the use of soft to touch plastics. There is also a dual tone interior color scheme. Adding to the upscale and premium feel of the cabin are the silver accents which we find on the AC vents. We can also spot some buttons and switches which have been carried forward from other Maruti offerings like the Swift hatchback.
Engine and Transmission
Powering the petrol model of Maruti Ciaz is a 1.4L 91.1 BHP motor which produces 130 NM of peak torque. The motor is available in both manual and automatic transmission variants. Taking on the diesel duties is a 1.3L engine which produces 88.5 BHP of peak power output and 200 NM of torque. Maruti Ciaz’s diesel models are only available in manual variants.

Fuel Economy
The petrol Maruti Ciaz models features an ARAI claimed fuel economy stat of 20.73 kmpl for the manual and 19.12 kmpl for the automatic variants. The diesel models with its SHVS mild-hybrid technology get a fuel economy of 20.89 kmpl.

Features
Maruti Ciaz gets a host of features which include a SmartPlay infotainment system which is compatible with USB, Aux-in, SD card and Bluetooth compatibility. Also, on offer is a built-in navigation system, rear-view camera, automatic climate control, projector headlamp and an electric rearview mirror to name a few.
Safety
In terms of safety, all Maruti Ciaz’s models are equipped with ABS and EBD. Customers also get dual-front airbags in the Z models and a driver side airbag come standard across all variants.
Colours
There are seven different color schemes in which Maruti Ciaz is available in. These include Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Glistening Gray, Nexa Blue, Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Snow White and Pearl Sangria Red.
