In total, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available across India in four different variants – LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+, all of which come standard with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the mid-spec VXI and ZXI variants are also available with a 4-speed torque converter as an option. For economy-conscious buyers, there is a CNG-powered variant of the VXI as well. Engine and Transmission

The only powertrain which is offered as standard in all the variants is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Available with both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options, the engine produces a maximum power output of 105 PS and a peak torque output of 138 Nm. This powertrain is also available in a single CNG-powered variant, in which it makes similar maximum power and torque outputs.

Safety and Security Features

For a vehicle of its size and price, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is decently loaded with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, brake assist and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. As you go up the variant lineup, the Ertiga comes equipped with remote keyless entry and reverse camera too. The automatic variants also come with electronic stability program and hill hold assist.

Comfort and Convenience Features

Even the base-spec LXI variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is equipped with essential features like projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, power windows and manual AC. The second VXI variant gets wheel caps, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear AC vents and driver seat height adjustment too. Dimensions

With a length of 4395 mm, a width of 1735 mm and a height of 1690 mm, the Maruti Ertiga is perfectly sized for a compact MPV, with space in all three rows. It also offers a decent boot space of 209 litres, which expands to 550 litres, once you fold down the third row of seats.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is currently having the exclusivity of being the only compact MPV in its price range. However, the introductory prices of entry-level variants of Kia Carens are priced close to the Ertiga.
