The 5th Generation Honda CR-V will be launched in FY 2018-19 and will also be offered with a diesel powertrain. The New Honda CR-V gets a third row seating arrangement too.
Honda CRV, the compact crossover of the Honda Cars India isn’t compact anymore as the company has introduced the 5th Generation Honda CRV with a 3rd row seating arrangement. The crossover which was available only in petrol variants has also joined the race of diesel powered SUVs. However, we are at a one year lag from the global market but nonetheless, there are upgrades just for the South Asian market, and these upgrades have wooed the media guys at the Auto Expo 2018 Day 1.
Honda CR-V Specifications
The 2018 CR-V is home to Honda’s Earth Dreams 1.6-litre i-DTEC motor. Now, it might sound like a miniscule engine on paper, but the specs are mighty impressive. The 4-cylinder engine punches 160PS of power and 350Nm of torque, thanks to twin-scroll turbo. The 2.4-litre petrol motor, which pumps out 188PS of max power and 226Nm of peak torque, will be carried forward from its predecessor. Transmission duties will be handled by a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The car continues to get optional all-wheel-drive as well. 6 speed manual gearbox option is also available for this model.
Honda CR-V Features
The new Honda CR-V is based on the same platform as the brand new Civic. In line with the rest of the lineup, the SUV gets a set of sharp-looking all-LED headlamps, machine-finished wheels and LED tail lamps. The split tail lamps with crystal LED lights are the highlight at the rear. The interiors are a healthy blend of sophistication and space, typical of a Honda. The feature list includes accessories such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and cruise control and a luxury feature – a sunroof. The newly introduced third row is a big catch of this car.
