Renault Kiger Mini SUV Launched at Rs 5.45 Lakh in India

Renault Kiger comes in two petrol engine choices and is also offered in four transmission options. The compact SUV also sports attractive looks and advanced features but misses sunroof.

Renault Kiger compact SUV is launched in India at the starting price of Rs 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This mini-SUV from Renault is offered in four variants and is available in two engine and four gearbox combinations to allow the buyers choose the SUV as per their own preference and convenience. With the launch of Renault Kiger, its bookings have also commenced.

Renault has offered the Kiger SUV in two engine choices, which include a 72hp standard petrol engine and another 100hp turbo-petrol engine. The engine of Renault Kiger are also offered with various gearbox choices for the buyers, which include the 5-speed manual, AMT and CVT transmissions. This SUV is offered in 4 variants, namely RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ.

Renault Kiger Variant-Wise Price List

The prices of Renault Kiger compact SUV fall in the range of Rs 5.45 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The 72hp manual transmission trims of Renault Kiger are offered between Rs 5.45 lakh to Rs 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) and the 72hp AMT trims are available in the range of Rs 6.59 lakh to Rs 8.00 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The manual trims of the high-powered 100hp turbo-inlined Renault Kiger are offered in the price bracket of Rs 7.14 lakh to Rs 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), while the CVT turbo-petrol trims of this compact SUV are priced between Rs 8.60 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

Renault Kiger Exterior and Dimensions

Renault Kiger is based on the company’s very popular CMFA+ platform that also underpins Renault Kwid, Renault Triber and Nissan Magnite. The dimensions of Renault Kiger are read – length of 3,991mm, width of 1,750mm, height of 1,600mm and wheelbase of 2,500mm. As per the company, this newly launched compact SUV gets best-in-segment 710mm of space between the front seat headrests and 220mm of rear seat legroom, and 1,431mm of rear seat elbow room. Renault Kiger also gets best-in-class boot space of 405-litres, which can be expanded to 879-litres when the rear seats are folded. Another impressive highlight of Renault Kiger is its ground clearance of 205mm that allows you to drive hassle-free on rough roads. The car is also fitted with 195/65 R16 sized tyres and features impressive 16-inches alloy wheels.

In terms of looks, Renault Kiger looks very attractive and draws cues from its siblings, Renault Kwid and Renault Triber. The compact SUV gets a large attractive front grille that features nicely designed chrome elements. It also gets new LED headlamps and is also characterized by a sculpted bonnet. The side profile of this car features contemporary wheel arcs and its sloping roofline adds the sportiness factor. The rear too looks newer in the entire mini-SUV lineup and features C-shaped LED tail lamps.

Renault Kiger comes in 6 colour choices – Planet Grey, Moonlight Grey, Mahogany Brown, Ice Cool White, Caspian Blue and Radiant Red with Mystery Black Roof.

Renault Kiger Interior and Features

Inside, the Renault Kiger features an attractive glossy black dashboard and its centre console and steering wheel also get chrome highlights. The dashboard gets a high mounted 8.0-inches touchscreen infotainment and there is a 7.0-inches TFT digital instrument panel that looks premium. The controls are inspired from Renault Triber but the Kiger SUV now also features additional controls on the steering wheel to operate the infotainment system. This newly launched Kiger has a storage compartment of 29 litres. Some of the noteworthy features of Kiger’s top-end RXZ trim include Arkamys audio system, 8.0-inches touchscreen infotainment that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, push-button start, keyless entry, automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging & connectivity, ambient lighting, PM 2.5 air filter. The Kiger may disappoint the sunroof lovers as it isn’t offered in any of its variants.

The safety features offered in the top-end trim of Renault Kiger include ABS, four airbags, rear-view camera with parking sensors and more.

Renault Kiger Engine and Specifications

Renault has offered the Kiger compact SUV in two engine choices which are, 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72hp of output and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 100hp of output. The 5-speed manual transmission is offered with both the engine choices as a standard offering, however, the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine comes with a 5-speed AMT gearbox choice. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is also offered with a convenient CVT gearbox. The top-end trim turbo-petrol trims of the Kiger are also offered with three different drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sports. These drive modes adjust the engine, transmission and steering response to assure improved drivability.
