The convenience of seating seven, now with automatic
The French automaker unveiled the Renault Triber automatic aka Renault Triber AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. Expected to roll out of showrooms in coming days, the Triber AMT price hasn’t been announced. We can safely expect the price to carry a premium of Rs 30,000 over its manual counterparts. The manual and AMT version remain identical except for the ‘Easy-R’ which highlights the AMT badge in Renault’s language.
Unlike the rotary dial for AMT in the Renault Kwid, the Triber AMT gets a stick similar to the Renault Duster. It continues to draw power from the 1.0-litre BS6 petrol engine which generates 72 PS of max power and 96 Nm of peak torque. It offered an impressive mileage of 20.0kmpl with the manual, the automatic is expected to retain those efficiency figures.
The Renault Triber has been garnering steady sales courtesy its affordable badge and practical seven seats. The economical MPV gets simple yet elegant styling with a big Renault badge in the centre of the front fascia. Roof rails, body decals and contours all ascertain it gets a hint of an off-road vehicle. It ticks all the boxes for being termed as the perfect 7-seat family car.
