What are the advantages and disadvantages of buying Renault Triber MPV? Here’s all you need to know.

Renault Triber is one of the most successful cars for the auto giant Renault in the Indian car market. This MPV has gained the trust of car enthusiasts in a very short span of time.

There are various reasons that go in favour of Renault Triber but there are also various drawbacks that the buyers need to know about this MPV. Let’s discuss them all here. Read on!

Renault Triber Pros

First, let’s know what are the key advantages of buying Renault Triber MPV:

1. Spacious 1st and 2nd Rows

If you’re planning to buy Renault Triber, you will appreciate its spacious 1st and 2nd-row cabins. Legroom, headroom and shoulder width are abundant in the first two rows of this MPV and even the thigh support is fairly good. The extended wheelbase is optimally utilized in the first two rows giving enough legroom to stretch your legs comfortably.

2. Very advanced features at an affordable price

Renault Triber is very reasonably priced if you look at the list of features it comes equipped with. Along with bigger dimensions, the Triber MPV is also offered with a long list of commendable features that include Projector Headlamps with LED DRLs, Eagle Beak Split Tail Lamps, 20.32 cm Touchscreen MediaNAV Evolution, Twin AC with Vents on 2nd and 3rd Row, Cooled Storage in Centre Console, 2 Front Airbags (Driver and Passenger) + 2 Side Airbags (Front Seats), Smart Access Card, Push Start-Stop Button, 100+ adjustable seating combinations and more.

3. AMT gearbox available

The availability of 5-speed EASY-R AMT makes Renault Triber MPV very convenient to drive, especially in city conditions. Earlier, the car was available only in 5-speed manual transmission but the addition of AMT makes it more worthy and premium.

4. Amazing storage capacity

The best part about Renault Triber MPV is its incredible capability to store your stuff. The car creates a 625-litres of boot space when you remove the 3rd-row EASYFIX seats. It also comes with additional interior storage of up to 31-litres. Besides this, there are upper and cooled lower boxes that are never seen before in any other budget car in India. And, there’s also cooled storage in the centre console to keep your water bottles and cold drinks cool throughout the trip.

Renault Triber Cons

Now, let’s know the drawbacks of Renault Triber which the company must fix in the upcoming models.

1. Petrol engine bit underpowered

Renault Triber is worth driving with 5 passengers and full load, but when it comes to riding with 7 adults and full load, the petrol engine feels a bit underpowered. Also, while overtaking, you will feel lag in the supply of power to the wheels. The 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque doesn’t seem sufficient for a car that is of this big size.

2. No diesel on offer

Another drawback of Renault Triber is its lack of availability in the diesel engine. MPVs in India are usually offered in both petrol and diesel engine choices. While the petrol ones are preferred for those who commute within the city, the diesel-powered MPVs are good for long-distance travellers and help in keeping the running costs comparatively low. If the Triber was offered in diesel, it would also have caught the attention of commercial vehicle seekers and could have been a cheaper alternative to Toyota Innova MPV.

3. 3rd row not made for long tours

The first two rows of Renault Triber are offered with abundant space and offer greater comforts while riding on long tours but the 3rd-row seating arrangement of Renault Triber is not comfortable for adults. On long tours, the 3rd-row passengers may feel squeezed and uncomfortable.
