Check out Tata Nexon detailed review, variant wise price list, mileage, specifications, exterior, interior, features and other details.
Overview
Tata Nexon was first showcased at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo and no one believed the concept being showcased will hit the street without any changes being made to the design. This is what we believe to be the highlight of Tata Nexon. It is a real life compact SUV that features looks of a concept car, but is the attraction only skin deep? Let’s find out!
Price List
Even though this is not a comparison, we can’t help but notice Tata’s consideration for the masses as Nexon was introduced with both petrol and diesel variant. This in comparison to Maruti’s decision of offering Vitara Brezza only in diesel options seems like a noble gesture by Tata which accommodates and bestows liberty to the common man.
Even the diesel offerings of Tata Nexon undercut the price tag of Vitara Brezza.

Exterior
As we mentioned above the design of Tata Nexon is simply striking to say the least. Some critics have proclaimed it to be an overgrown version of Tata Bolt but we beg to differ. The floationg roofline, projector headlamps (available on higher-end models), DRLs, dual-tone paint scheme and much more, doesn’t only make Nexon seem sporty, but in many ways, also funky.
Dimensions
One of the most vital stat while evaluating a SUV, be it compact or otherwise, is the ground clearance and at 209 mm Nexon manages to blow the competition out of the water. Another impressive stat about Tata Nexon happens to be its boot space which at 350 litres is much more impressive than that of its arch-rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Interior
Step inside the car and Nexon doesn’t disappoint. The driver’s side seat is height adjustable and the car also comes with height adjustable seat bealts. In the rear you get 60: 40 split seats and rear A/c vents with airflow controls which are not offered in Vitara Brezza. Rear passengers also get rear charging ports and 34 storage pocket to tuck away your knickknacks.
Engine and Specifications
The only letdown in terms of its powertrain and transmission layout is the absence of an automatic or even a CVT transmission. Other than that the 6-speed transmission in Tata Nexon takes on its duties really well and at 108.5 bhp peak power out in both petrol and diesel varints, the 1.2-litre Revotron and 1.5-litre Revotorq mills are quite impressive. Even though the petrol powerplant isn’t as powerful as the 110 bhp unit in Renault Duster or the 121.36 bhp unit in Ford Ecosport, there is still ample power to go around.
In comparison to Vitara Brezza’s 88.5 bhp, Nexon’s power output is not only superior but also quite impressive, in both petrol and diesel avatars.
Lastly with torque stats of 260 Nm, which happens to be the best in the segment, we expect Nexon to become really popular quite soon.
