The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20 rival from Tata is likely to be priced north of Rs 5.20 lakh, ex-showroom. The Tata X451 Hatchback will also debut the Impact 2.0 design philosophy.
Tata’s premium hatchback (Codenamed X451) has been spied testing once again and the car is certain to be up for display at the Auto Expo 2018 next month. It will become the first Tata model to feature Advanced Modular Platform (AMP), which will also form the basis of upcoming small cars of Tata in the future.
The spy shots reveal that the upcoming Tata X451 hatchback will feature larger wheelbase in comparison to the Tiago, thick C-pillar with door handles (similar to the Chevrolet Beat), raked windshield and sloping roof.
Failing with its Tata Bolt hatchback earlier, the homegrown automaker is now ready to take on the competition from the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the upcoming Hyundai Elite i20 facelift head-on with its premium X451 hatch.

The engines of the upcoming car are likely to be borrowed from its Tiago cousin albeit with retuned power figures. The Tiago boasts a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine generating 85PS/114Nm and 70PS/140Nm, respectively.
To be positioned above the Tata Tiago, it will be a sub-4m car and will gloat company’s new IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. The carmaker’s IMPACT design has been largely credited for its immense success with the new breed of car models like the Tata Tiago hatch, Tigor sedan, Nexon crossover and the Hexa MPV.
